The hardest thing about tropical fish keeping is to keep the tank clean, but
the end result is well worth it. I also
try to grow some plants in the tank but never seem to have much success. Clown
loaches are a very nice fish covered in orange and black stripes. They are best
kept in groups of three or more to prevent them becoming shy. Clown loaches have
a nasty habit of lying on the bottom of the tank motionless, this has caused me
many an upset thinking that one has died.
Tiger barbs are similar in colour to a Clown loach and are always dashing
backwards and forwards in the tank, as do the Zebra danios. Zebra danios remain
close to the surface and again should be kept in groups. Neon tetras have a
bright blue stripe running down their sides (hence their name) and are
best kept in groups for maximum show. Platys are a good fish to own if you want
to breed fish, as the breed so easily.

I also paint in oils, mainly pictures of landscapes as
I'm not very good at
painting people. My pictures may not be great works of art but they give me
pleasure. To view some of my artwork go to my artwork
page in the gallery. When I get time I also like to read and watch movies, my favourite
movie is Bladerunner and my favourite book is The Beach by Alex Garland, which is
much better than the movie.
