Ben-Motor and Allied Trades Benevolent Fund
Ben is a charity which I contribute to weekly from my wages. It
is
a charity set up to help
families, and individuals, linked in any way to the motor industry. This
includes big car manufacturers right down to local garages and bodyshops. Money
is raised through payroll giving, as well as contributions from fund raising
activities. The payroll scheme means that, because of Government legislation,
every £10 we give is worth £11 to the charity, but at no extra cost to the
giver.
Ben runs it's own homes, day centres and welfare
services for use by anyone who works, or has worked, in the motor trade.
Services are available even if you have never contributed to Ben, although I
would obviously ask that you set up your own payroll scheme, so that the charity
can continue it's work. It only costs me about 50p a week, so you really don't
notice the money going.
